AirHub streamlines the management of and compliance with Ship–Aircraft Operating Limits (SHOL), operational policies and procedures —all of which are integral to airworthiness assurance at sea.
As a ship-based software solution, AirHub supports the safe and effective management of helicopter operations from single or multi-spot ships by:
Standardising aviation management practices at sea
Replacing manual practices that have the potential for human error and cumulative risk
Enabling maximum operational capability and tactical flexibility to be realised
For operation of multiple aircraft, a combined SHOL provides operators with a clear understanding of operational limits for a selected combination of activities or operations.
AirHub single screen view
Regulates on-board planning and approval processes
Displays and manages electronic SHOL plates
Supports combining multiple SHOL for parallel activities
Consolidates all sensor information
Presents flying course solutions for own and foreign aircraft
across all configurations for approved operations
Supports forward planning of required flying courses
Automatically provides visual alerts when the conditions are
outside of limits
Records data inputs and quarantines information associated
with incidents or exceedances
Provides on-screen links to checklists and procedures
AirHub Functionality
Reduces workload and the potential for human error
Simplifies planning and approvals from Command
through to Flight Deck
Enables maximum operational capability and tactical
flexibility to be safely realised
AirHub is readily integrated with exisiting sensors and data inputs, and can utilise exisiting combat management system displays or stand-alone monitors positioned in the Flying Control Position, Bridge and Operations room to provide all personnel involved in flying activities with a consistent and informed view of status and conditions
Assuring the limits
AirHub is a stable and reliable software solution developed from Prism
Defence’s trusted SHOL flight trials software that has been used globally
for over a decade. As a ship-based software solution, AirHub enables the
safe and effective operation of helicopters from single or multi-spot ships,
providing enhanced aviation management practices at sea, addressing the
limitations and inherent cumulative risk associated with human error, and
increasing operational capability. Far more than an electronic SHOL display
system, AirHub is an airworthiness assurance tool.
Defining the limits
Prism Defence specialises in ship-helicopter integration and innovative
solutions to support the Planning, Managing and Developing SHOL. Working with customers, Prism Defence enables
and enhances the operational capability of helicopters and unmanned aerial
systems (UAS) operating from ships at sea.
The Prism Defence team includes highly experienced test pilots,
flight test engineers and ship aviation specialists who are supported by a
range of engineering and software personnel with expertise in;
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), airwake and ship motion limits
analysis, instrumentation design and innovative software development.
At Prism Defence, we understand the challenges of operating helicopters and
UAS in the harshest of maritime environments. Our software developers and
aeronautical engineers work at sea alongside our flight test crews to provide
our customers with solutions and products that are fit for task.
Prism Defence continues to work with international defence forces, including
Australia, UK, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand, Brunei and Oman to build
capability and enable the safe and effective operation of helicopters and UAS
at sea.
AirHub Simulator Room
The AirHub Simulator room is designed to give users an operational overview and training for both single spot and multispot ships.
